Outside elbow pain?

I was pushing the kids on the tire swing when I tried to redirect the tire before it had reached it"s apex. Thats when I heard a pop. Not loud. The pain is on the outside. Right there on that hard point. No were else. There is no muscle there or ligament or anything I can feel. I had fallen on that elbow 18 years ago and every now and then when I set the elbow on a counter or something it will shoot a tremendous pain but it won't last ,much like a prick. move the elbow from the counter and it'll get OK. I almost feel like I've broken some deposits from the elbow from 18 years ago. It is getting better. Still VERY sensitive to the touch. First 2 days unbarriable. Any thoughts?

You have hyper extended your elbow, and have either torn or stretched the tendon. You need to see a physiotherapist.

This injury will appear to resolve itself without medical treatment provided the tendon is not torn completely, however that will be permanent scarring of the tendon which will be observable in an x-ray.

I would advise you that if you do not want to find yourself experiencing pain as you get older, and a loss of mobility in at arm to seek medical treatment now.

I hyperextended my elbow about 7 years ago - and to this day I still have extreme sensitivity in the same spot you're talking about. I was told that the spot is so sensitive because it's where the tendon attaches to the bone. It would be a good idea to talk to your doctor and make sure it's nothing serious. He/she might recommend physical therapy.

Hope it feels better soon!
