Accessing other computer using a Netgear Router?

hi, i want to know how to access file from my other computer.

i have 3 desktop computers at my house. i have 1 in my room and 1 at the living room. which shares internet using a netgear router. Is it possible for me to access the other computer, what i mean is, i could see its actual desktop screen and could open/change program. Yea i wanted to do this because i want an easy access to my other computer, than going downstairs and make changes, and by the way i run a game server( on my living room computer) which needs editing for a lot of reasons. so..any suggestions? and can you please tell me step-by-step, im not really familiar at this. or you could redirect me to a link that could help me. thankss

Ensure all of the computers are in the same Workgroup, enable File Sharing on all of the folders you want shared on each computer. The other computers may require a password to gain access to the shared folders, so an admin account on each machine is quite handy.

You'll need some remote desktop software. TeamViewer is free and works well.
I agree with the guy above me.

Software that's called VNC allows you to remotely access another computer as if you were sitting at it. However you wouldn't want to play games via that connection.... doing basic stuff would be fine.

Another product that is good is called UltraVNC.
