DOS programs only print to LPT1 how do I redirect it to print to a USB port?



I have a laptop that does not have an lpt1 printer port only a USB port. I have a program that only sees lpt1?nintendo ds browser



All laptops still come with LPT1 ports. This is for this exact reason. It is possible that your printer only has an USB Connection to the laptop.



Does your printer have the option to connect a parallel printer cable to it instead of the USB cable? If so then you can switch the printer. Your other option might be to have the DOS program print to a file and then print the resultant file through other software through the USB port.

Get a switch for the printer
These programs have updates available online. Check the website of manufacturer, they might have updates for downloading that would add option of USB to the program.



Older palms use serial ports and same situation. I updated the software and got a serial to usb adaptor for it. it worked.
