I'm doing research for a book I am writing. One of my characters overdoses on the prescription drug Vicodin. What is protocol for treating such an incident? Do they give an IV? Flush the system? Not sure if this is posted in the right area. If not please redirect me. Thank You

Pump the stomac.Or just give um stuff to puke if it ain't too many.
They will give a drug thru IV called Narcan to reverse the Vicodin effects.
Yes, typically they will do iv banana bag, potassium, etc, and depending on how long ago the overdose was they may do charcoal. Then they observe you for 6-8 hours and observe you and provide counseling. Thats pretty much.
Depending on suspected amount of drugs ingested; the stomach is pumped, the system is flushed and IV is given.
you can pump the stomach by doing that way see some any differences in which you can be able to identify.
There is probably more than one way to treat this. Contact a poison control center.
