I have a website product that currently uses www.mydomain.com/joe to locate an ASP-driven page. (Joe's page appears when visited.) I want to also be able to use http://joe.mydomain.com to do the same thing - Redirect to Joe's asp page. Is this possible in ASP without creating a folder for the sub-domain in IIS?
Is there a way in ASP to use a sub-domain (ex: joe.somesite.com) without it really existing?microsoft net
The short answer is no, ASP.NET cannot do this. Only a DNS entry can resolve a subdomain URL to a directory.
