Aid Money to Israel can help the US?

The US is currently giving around 2 billion a year to Israel (not as loans but grants). Israel is one of the richest countries in the middle east and one of the most heavily armed at this point.

Thus far total Aid to Israel since the 1950's is around 100 billion dollars. The US is the biggest giver of foreign aid in the world yet an entire third of that aid goes directly to Israel in a lump sum without requiring accountability or record of what they spend it on.

What is the justification for this expenditure and why can't we redirect that aid to domestic funding for schools and healthcare? Why are congressmen and presidents not held accountable for giving so much money away to another nation?

It's because of groups like AIPAC and the ADL. The ADL or like groups contribute (in my opinion) to this sort of issue not being debated enough, because the minute you open your mouth to criticise they will probably cry 'anti-semitic'. Most of the Congress is funded by AIPAC and when you don't support Israel in a slavish manner they throw money at your rivals in the primaries - look what happened to Cynthia McKinney. AIPAC is another "special-interest" but unlike the drug-companies is taboo when politicians try to claim they are not beholden to special interests.

It helps the US alright - helps the US make the Islamic world insanely angry.

More private funding goes into the Israel lobby than any other lobby interest. If you do a lot of research you'll find that fundamentalist neo-con Christians and Jews have a similar objective: To drive the Muslims out of Israel by any means necessary and re-build Solomon's temple on the same site where it stood thousands of years ago. Also, keep in mind that Iraq is closer to Israel than Afghanistan and Pakistan so it is in the best interests if Israel to have a strong military presence fighting Muslims as close to Israel as possible.

My question is as follows: How can anyone possibly believe that God would be impressed with ANYTHING man could build in His honor that even a single drop of blood was shed for. Especially as compared to all of the things He has created.

God would be more impressed with a crude sand castle that a 5 year old built for Him that got swept away in a wave.

I am not as concerned about U.S. aid to Israel as about the amount of money being spent on potential presidential candidates' spending on trying to become a presidential candidate.

Justify the billions of dollars spent by potential presidential candidates on their campaign to become President of the United States.

It's actually 6 billion dollars, which is shocking. I mean 6 billion, Jesus that's a lot of money! That's makes me so ******* mad. Why the hell is the U.S giving away so much money to that ****-hole of a country Israel??? Israel uses that money to finance their military which they in turn use against the defenseless Palestinians. Giving away so much money to Israel is not only WRONG and ******* STUPID but also irresponsible. The U.S has the biggest debt in the world. It has to borrow billions of dollars and at the same time they are giving billions of dollars away? That's beyond idiotic.
